SCOTUS weighs homeless camping ban; anti-ban rally in Newark

As the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments Monday about whether cities can fine or arrest homeless people for sleeping outside, advocates of homeless people rallied in Newark against those kinds of laws. Justices are wrestling with a set of Oregon laws that ban camping on public property like streets and sidewalks when there aren’t enough beds in homeless shelters.
