The Chicago Police Department and the community are mourning the loss of Officer Luis M. Huesca, who was shot and killed early Sunday morning while returning home after working his shift. Huesca, a six-year CPD veteran working in the 5th District, was two days shy of his 31st birthday when he was shot multiple times in Gage Park on the city's Southwest Side and pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
