A woman was killed and 11 people were injured in a mass shooting late Sunday in the Warehouse District, New Orleans police say.

  • The club's wooden doors had at least four bullet holes Monday morning, the report said.
  • A car parked nearby also was shot up, WWL said.

Zoom in: Authorities have not released the name or age of the woman who died.

  • They described the other victims as five men and six women. Authorities didn't say how serious their injuries were.

What he's saying: "Sharon and I are praying for the victims and their families in this tragedy," Gov. Jeff Landry posted on X. "This type of violence has no place in our State."

  • Added U.S. Rep. Troy Carter, "It is heartbreaking to see gun violence devastate our city, our neighbors, and our loved ones.... We urgently need common-sense gun reform measures and violence reduction programs in our community."
