A jury has convicted a movie weapons supervisor of involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of a cinematographer by actor Alec Baldwin on the set of the Western film “Rust.” Wednesday's verdict capped a two-week trial of movie armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during a rehearsal in October 2021. Baldwin has pleaded not guilty in a separate case to an involuntary manslaughter charge. His trial is set for July. Following Wednesday's verdict, the judge ordered the 26-year-old defendant to be taken into custody. Her lawyers say they'll appeal the conviction, which carries a penalty of up to 18 months in prison. Messages seeking comment from Baldwin's representatives weren't immediately returned.
