Hundreds of people rushed toward an aid truck carrying bags of flour in Gaza City on Saturday. Aid deliveries to Gaza, particularly the north, have been rare and chaotic, as increased lawlessness, looting and the breakdown of public order following Israel's military offensive has made it extremely unsafe for aid workers to operate. The United States military airdropped food and aid over Gaza — the first round of emergency humanitarian assistance authorized by President Joe Biden, U.S. officials said. Palestinians posted videos on social media showing boxes of aid being dropped by U.S. military C-130 cargo planes. The first stage of the humanitarian operation saw more than 35,000 meals and aid airdropped on pallets into the enclave, where the United Nations reports one-quarter of the population is just one step from famine. The White House has said the airdrops will be a sustained effort and that Israel is supportive of the operation. #Gaza #Israel #Aid #reels #videography #voanews https://www.voanews.com/a/us-airdrops-35-000-meals-and-aid-into-gaza/7511237.html » Subscribe to VOA News: https://bit.ly/3KIPysi » Watch more VOA News video: https://www.youtube.com/c/VOANews Voice of America (VOA) is the largest U.S. international broadcaster, providing news and information in more than 40 languages to an estimated weekly audience of 236.8 million people.
