Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis conducted three military operations including targeting the Islander ship in the Gulf of Aden with naval missiles, and Israel's Eilat with ballistic missiles and drones, the group's military spokesman said in a televised speech on Thursday (February 22). They also targeted an American destroyer in the Red Sea with a number of drones, Yahya Sarea added. Houthi militants have launched repeated drone and missile strikes in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait and Gulf of Aden since November in support of Palestinians, as the Israel-Hamas war continues and the Gaza death toll reaches almost 30,000. The group's strikes are disrupting a route that accounts for about 12% of global maritime traffic, and forcing firms to take a longer, more expensive route around Africa. #houthis #redsea #yemen The New York Post is your source for breaking news, news about New York, sports, business, entertainment, opinion, real estate, culture, fashion, and more.
