Rachel Mitchell, Arizona prosecutor of Maricopa County, says she opposes the extradition of suspected killer Raad Almansoori back to New York City due to lack of trust in Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg. Almansoori is a suspect in the death of a woman who was fatally bludgeoned in a New York City hotel room. Mitchell said Wednesday that Almansoori is being held without bond while her office decides how to charge him in connection with the stabbing of two women in her county. She took a swipe at Bragg, implying at a news conference that Almansoori would possibly get more lenient treatment under him. “Having observed the treatment of violent criminals in the New York area by Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg, I think it’s safer to keep him here and keep him in custody," said Mitchell, referring to the prosecutor who brought the high-profile case against former President Donald Trump alleging that hush money was paid during his 2016 campaign to cover up an affair. Bragg's office shot back, criticizing Mitchell in what they said was her politicization of a murder case. ------------------------------------- Join our newsletter at https://bit.ly/2q1tepr Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/scrippsnews/ Follow us on Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/scrippsnews Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/scrippsnews/ Follow us on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@scrippsnews
