Two Burnsville police officers and a fire department medic were shot and killed Sunday morning, and the suspect is also dead following an hourslong standoff in response to a domestic abuse call. By noon, several hundred officers from police departments including Minneapolis, South St. Paul, Woodbury, Inver Grove Heights and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office were staged outside of HCMC, where the bodies of the officers and medic were taken. Medical staff were also lined up outside in their scrubs. Others watched from the windows as they awaited the transfer of the bodies to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office in Minnetonka.
