Saturday is the best day for outdoor plans in Northern California, but when Sunday comes, you should expect heavy rain and strong winds that could reach 50 mph or more in some places. If you live in higher elevations, be ready for a lot of snow. Saturday will be mainly dry as we await the next impactful storm, though there could be a shower or two. Our weather team is calling Sunday an Alert Day because of the expected impacts from the incoming storm, which has plenty of moisture thanks to an atmospheric river.
