The U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees terminated a number of its staffers in Gaza suspected of taking part in the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas and other militants on southern Israel. That's according to a statement on Friday by the director of the agency, known as UNRWA. The United States separately said it was temporarily halting additional funding to UNRWA. The U.S. is the biggest donor to the agency, which has been providing aid to Gaza's population amid Israel's offensive. It was not immediately known what role the 12 staffers had in the Oct. 7 surprise attack in which militants rampaged in southern Israel. The attack set off the war, now in its fourth month.
