Dozens of vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction crash and other crashes Saturday morning on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, according to Maryland Transportation Authority police. MDTA police said officers and Kent Island volunteer firefighters were called around 8 a.m. to a 23-car chain-crash on the westbound span of the bridge. Additionally, MDTA police said investigators believe some 20 more vehicles were involved in a series of other crashes. When all three westbound traffic lanes were closed, east- and westbound traffic was alternating, taking turns on the eastbound span of the bridge. The westbound span reopened to traffic around 1:50 p.m. Subscribe to WBAL on YouTube now for more: http://bit.ly/1oJSRCN Get more Baltimore news: http://www.wbaltv.com Like us: http://facebook.com/wbaltv11 Follow us: https://twitter.com/wbaltv11 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wbaltv11/
