Donald Trump emerged victorious in the New Hampshire primary, securing a substantial lead over former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who landed in second place. Despite Trump's strong showing, Haley remains resolute, vowing to stay in the race and challenging the establishment. "Donald Trump is well on his way to securing the Republican nomination for the 2024 election," stated Dr. Chase Meyer, lecturer in the Political Science Department at the University of South Carolina. At a rally in New Hampshire, Nikki Haley expressed determination, stating, "Every time I've run for office in South Carolina, I've beaten the political establishment. They are lined up against me again, that's no surprise, but South Carolina voters don't want a coronation; they want an election, and we're gonna give them one,". Dr. Meyer acknowledges that Haley faces an uphill battle, "Look back at previous South Carolina Primaries, how did the state vote? They typically support the more right-wing candidate,". To overcome this challenge, he suggests that Haley focus on getting her message across, raising doubts about President Trump, and dominating the airwaves. According to FCC records, her campaign is spending $52,877 on campaign ads across Midlands news stations. Residents in the Midlands express mixed opinions on the effectiveness of campaign ads. While some believe it might work in swaying undecided voters, others feel inundated with political advertisements. "I'm ready for it to be over because every time I turn the TV on, it's a different ads and different ads about candidates," remarked Timothy Smith, a resident. #Politics #News #Trump READ MORE: https://www.wcnc.com/article/news/experts-and-columbia-residents-react-to-nikki-haleys-new-hampshire-loss-politics/101-f6e8b389-d6a9-4e1a-90ae-214262babe15
