POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — New video shows rescue crews bringing hikers to safety after they were left stranded in the Red River Gorge. Two days after a helicopter mission successfully rescued the hikers, LEX 18 talked with the pilot who made that incredible landing on Courthouse Rock. The pilot said circumstances lined up perfectly for them to make that rescue, with light winds allowing them to land instead of having to use a hoist system.
