Two men caught in avalanche near Mullan found alive, third man presumed dead

The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office called off a search and rescue mission for three people caught in an avalanche near Stevens Peak. Shoshone County Sheriff’s say they received a Garmin GPS alert of a possible fatality near Steven’s Peak shortly before 3 p.m. on Thursday. Sheriff’s were able to establish communications with two of the individuals through a GPS texting device. Two of the three men were found alive and were sent to the hospital for further treatment. One of the two men found was reported to have a broken arm.
