Rain: Flood Watch - 1.5 to 4+ inches of rainfall is expected. Rain is likely to spread across the area during the morning hours and continue through midday and afternoon hours. Avoid low-lying areas prone to flooding and do not drive through a road covered with floodwater. Wind: Wind Advisory - 45 to 65 mph wind gusts are expected. A combination of heavy rain on already saturated soils and strong wind gusts will cause power outages. Aside from any severe storm, wind could still gusts upwards 40-60 mph. Secure loose items around your home and use caution while driving high-profile vehicles. The Mountains are under a High Wind Warning with a better shot at winds up to 65 mph. Severe Thunderstorms - Strong to severe storms are possible and will be capable of producing damaging straight-line winds, and isolated tornadoes. The severe threat is primarily for areas south and east of Charlotte during the afternoon. Winds will still be gusty into the evening behind this storm system, keeping the threat for downed trees and limbs, impacting powerlines through the late evening. Stay weather aware and stay safe.
