Rain: Flood Watch - 2 to 5 inches of rainfall is expected. Rain is likely to spread across the area during the early morning hours and continue through midday and afternoon hours. Avoid low-lying areas prone to flooding and do not drive through a road covered with floodwater. Wind: High Wind Advisory / Warning (Mountains) - 45 to 65 mph wind gusts are expected. A combination of heavy rain on already saturated soils and strong wind gusts will cause power outages. Aside from any severe storm, wind could still gusts upwards 35 mph. Secure loose items around your home and use caution while driving high-profile vehicles. Severe Thunderstorms - Strong to severe storms are possible and will be capable of producing damaging straight-line winds, tornadoes, hail. The severe threat is primarily for Charlotte and areas south and east of the city during the afternoon.
