The families of the young people murdered last year in Moscow, Idaho are split over the decision to demolish the home. Crews tore down the house at 1122 King Road Thursday. Last fall, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen and Xana Kernodle were murdered inside the home. In the 13 months since, it has been boarded up and guarded by security, first as a crime scene, then to keep people from trying to access the home. The Latah County prosecutor's office says the house has changed so much since the murders, it would be of no value for a jury to come in. Investigators from the prosecution and the defense have given extensive access over the last few months to take pictures and videos to be used at trial, a date for which has not been set. Kaylee Goncalves' family has been vocal about wanting the house to remain at least until after the trial. Ethan Chapin's family, however, disagrees. "We're supportive of the decision to take down the King Street house," the Chapin family said in a statement to ABC News. "For the good of the University, its students (including our own kids) and the community of Moscow." Ethan was a triplet and his brother and sister still attend U of I. The university plans to build a healing garden for the four students and other students who have died; it will be on campus, not at the King Road site. ►Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/4NewsNow ►Website: http://www.kxly.com ►Twitter: https://twitter.com/kxly4news ►Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KXLY4News
