News 3 is continuing to learn more information after police say a man killed his mother and then went on a carjacking spree in the southwest valley early Wednesday morning. During that time, the suspect also shot and killed a man before taking off in his van. That man was 39-year-old Jerry Lopez, a husband and father of seven. His wife Karen Lopez doesn't want him to be remembered as a victim of this senseless crime, but for the selfless person he was for his family and community.
