Tyre Nichols Death: Police released a series of videos showing Tyre Nichols being beaten in an encounter with five former Memphis police officers, who are charged with murder in his death. Tyre Nichols died in the hospital three days after the Jan. 7 traffic stop. Memphis Police Department officers Demetrius Haley, Tadarrius Bean, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills and Justin Smith were terminated on January 18. They each face seven felony charges, including one count of second-degree murder, one count of aggravated assault, one count of official oppression and two counts each of aggravated kidnapping and official misconduct.
