A video released by the Carabinieri police Tuesday shows detained Mafia boss Matteo Messina Denaro arriving late on Monday night at a Palermo military airport to be moved to a detention center. The video showed him walking on the tarmac escorted by Carabinieri police officers at the airport, where he boarded a helicopter to be transferred to an undisclosed detention facility. The Mafia boss convicted of helping to mastermind some of the nation’s most heinous slayings was arrested Monday in Sicily after three decades on the run.
