Airports in Tampa Bay area continue to face delays amid nationwide FAA system outage

Flights across the United States were grounded Wednesday morning as the Federal Aviation Administration worked to fix a nationwide system outage, causing major delays at airports throughout the nation, including in the Tampa Bay area. Wednesday night, the FAA says preliminary work has traced the outage to a damaged database file. While planes are now able to return to the skies again, the ripple effect of those delays is still being felt at Tampa International Airport (TPA), Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) and St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE).
