Flights delayed at Tampa airport amid nationwide FAA systems outage

Some flights are delayed early Wednesday morning at Tampa International Airport (TPA), airport operations confirmed to 10 Tampa Bay. This is due to a reported nationwide computer outage at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). A tweet from the FAA says, "The FAA is working to restore its Notice to Air Missions System (NOTAM). We are performing final validation checks and repopulating the system now. Operations across the National Airspace System are affected." According to TPA spokesperson Beau Zimmer, the FAA is having "issues communicating with aircraft" and as a result is "causing airlines to make adjustments." MORE: https://bit.ly/3GTvIL4
