Temperatures will then begin to drop: 50s on Wednesday and 30s and 40s for the remainder of the week, through the New Year's Weekend and into the beginning of next week. There is also a chance of rain showers on Wednesday and as it gets colder the chance will change to snow for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Amounts should generally be light - maybe one to three inches. We also have a Winter Storm Watch, and Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather advisories in effect. Winter Storm Watch is in effect for SW Colorado from Tuesday - Wednesday for areas above 6,500 feet. The Four Corners and Upper Dolores River will be most affected with 6-12" of snow possible. The Winter Storm Warning includes the San Juans and Grand and Battlement Mesas from 5 p.m. Tuesday through early Thursday. 10-20 inches of snow possible which would impact travel.
