A blast of frigid Arctic air will arrive in New Orleans before Christmas
Meteorologist Alexandra Cranford says an Arctic blast is in the New Orleans Weather forecast at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022.
This week starts cold and rainy ahead of a blast of frigid air that will charge in before Christmas. First, expect cloudy skies and a chilly feel on Monday with an east breeze. Showers will spread in during the afternoon as a low pressure area rides along our coastline. Rain will continue overnight, and showers will linger on Tuesday. No severe weather is expected, but we should get a decent soaking with 1 to 2 inches of rain.
