The president signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law. The new law forces states to recognize same-sex and interracial marriages. It also prevents the supreme court from removing some same-sex marriage protections which many advocates were worried could happen after Roe v. Wade was overturned in June. The White House is working on a plan to send the high-tech patriot missile defense system to Ukraine. A formal announcement could come this week.
