A small plane hit power lines in Gaithersburg, Maryland, on Sunday evening, stranding the pilot and one passenger more than 100 feet above the ground for more than 7 hours. The crash caused more than 100,000 to go without power, two hospitals to temporarily limit capacity and all public schools in the county to close.
