Tracking Subtropical Storm Nicole: Storm could become a hurricane | 11 a.m. Monday

People across much of Florida should be ready for impacts from Subtropical Storm Nicole by midweek, including the threat of coastal erosion, strong winds and heavy rain. It could even be a hurricane upon approach to Florida's eastern coast. In fact, the National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch from the Volusia/Brevard County Line to Hallandale Beach and Lake Okeechobee. As of the 10 a.m. Monday advisory, it is a 45-mph storm located about 495 miles east of the northwest Bahamas moving northwest at 9 mph.
