Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said lessons be learned as he visited the site of a bridge collapse that killed 135 people, and he also met Tuesday at the hospital with some of those injured in the accident. The colonial-era suspension bridge, over the Machchhu River, was packed with sightseers when it collapsed. Many were in town to celebrate the Diwali and Chhath Puja festivals - when it broke on Sunday evening, sending people plunging about 10 meters into the water. The state government said in a statement 152 people had been discharged from the hospital, while 17 were still being treated.
