The body of an American skier has been recovered in Nepal. Hilaree Nelson described herself as a “Skier, Storyteller, Mom and lover of wild places.” The 49-year-old was the first woman to climb both Everest and nearby mountain Lhotse within 24 hours. Nelson went to Nepal with her partner, Jim Morrison, to ski down from the 26,775-foot summit of Mount Manaslu. After days of searching and an avalanche, a helicopter rescue crew along with Morrison recovered Nelson’s body.
