How the pandemic led to a significant decline in child poverty

The child poverty rate in the U.S. fell last year to the lowest level on record. Families were helped as cash benefits, tax credits and other types of non-cash assistance increased during the pandemic. Dana Thomson of Child Trends is one of the lead researchers on the analysis.
