Eliza Fletcher, the woman whose remains were found Monday after she'd been abducted in Memphis, is being remembered as a "dedicated" wife, mother, and teacher. A graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Fletcher held a Master's of Arts in Teaching education degree. She was working as a teacher when she was tragically abducted and killed in Memphis while out for a morning run. She was 34 years old. Her family released a statement Tuesday saying "Liza" was a joy to many people. Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee offered the family his condolences this week, saying in part "We lift the Fletcher family up in prayer during this time of unspeakable grief. I thank law enforcement for their tireless efforts and trust justice will be swift and severe." Her alleged killer, 38-year-old Cleotha Abston, is facing a slew of charges—including first degree murder, first degree murder in perpetration of kidnapping, especially aggravated kidnapping and tampering with evidence. He also faces charges from an unrelated incident for identity theft, theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit card.
