Ten years after its introduction, a frozen DACA program leaves some immigrant children in legal limbo, unable to obtain protection and gain opportunities. A key difference between them: Leo and Isai Medina were accepted into the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program. Carlos Medina was not. As DACA turns 10 this week, the program boasts nearly 650,000 recipients and has paved paths to college degrees and better jobs for thousands of youths.
