Various of people sitting out in park STORYLINE: Londoners were heading to parks on Monday as temperatures in parts of Britain exceeded 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit). While many people sheltered under trees to avoid the heat, others made the most of the sun to catch some rays. Ice cream sellers were doing a roaring trade in St James Park as people tried to cool off. Jorg Hiltenkapp, 56, an IT consultant from Perth, Australia, said he had been expecting rain and cloudy weather.  "This is a very pleasant surprise it's nice and warm," he said. Evelina Joergensen, from Berlin, Germany, said she was surprised to see the grass so yellow and dusty, "it's not what I imagine England to be like" she said.
