Last advisory written on Agatha. System became a remnant low. High chance tropical development in South Gulf or Yucatan Channel area in 3-5 days. Should system become a storm, the name will be Alex. In order for system to keep the Name Agatha, it would have to remain at least a tropical storm as it moved from the Pacific to Atlantic basin. We do have warm water in the Gulf, but it takes more than warm water to cause a system to develop. There are strong West winds aloft moving over the remnants of Agatha. It's what we call wind shear. This is not conducive to development, but will help send it to the East. The GFS Model is not bullish on development. The Euro does develop perhaps in SE Gulf with heavy rain potential for Florida Peninsula and then into the Atlantic. Should there be development in the South Gulf, I see NO IMPACTS for our area.
