The remnants of Hurricane Agatha, which slammed into Mexico, could form again in the Gulf of Mexico and, if so, would be called Alex. We will likely see some type of development before the end of this week. We've been watching Agatha in the eastern Pacific. The storm has made landfall in Mexico and will continue to dissipate over the next day or so. Models are still struggling to decide how re-development will happen once the moisture from Agatha enters the Yucatan area. Whatever does try to develop will likely move towards Florida as an upper-level trough pulls the moisture northeast. This also means wind shear should keep any system mainly a rainmaker and lopsided.
