Russia Says 1,730 Ukrainian Troops Have Left Azovstal

The Russian military on Thursday said a total of 1,730 Ukrainian troops holed up at the giant steel plant in Mariupol have surrendered since Monday. Russian Defence Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said the number includes 771 who have laid down weapons over the past 24 hours. Konashenkov said 80 of the surrendered were injured, with medical treatment being provided at hospitals in Novoazovsk and Donetsk. The claims could not be independently verified.
