Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Wednesday 344 people have been evacuated in and around the besieged city of Mariupol. "A total of 344 people were rescued from the city and the surrounding area," said Zelenskiy in Kyiv. "That is how many people left for Zaporizhzhia today. Our team is preparing to meet them, in the same way as more than 150 people who managed to be taken out of Azovstal." Zelenskiy said they are trying to reach an agreement to save those remaining in Azovstal, including women and children. Russia’s Defense Ministry said it will offer safe passage for civilians still trapped in the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol on May 5 to 7, Tass reported.
