The leaked SCOTUS draft opinion is going to raise the pressure on Democratic congressional leaders to get rid of the filibuster and pass legislation that codifies abortion rights in this country. President Biden urged Congress to codify the right to abortion. Senator Schumer said Tuesday that the Senate would vote on making the right to an abortion law through congressional action. However, that will be a largely symbolic gesture given that the Democrats don't have the 60 votes to get the measure passed.
