Patrick Lyoya was shot and killed by a Grand Rapids police officer during a traffic stop on April 4, 2022. This body camera footage from the officer was provided by the Grand Rapids Police Department, which says the bodycam deactivated as the officer struggled with Lyoya. It then reactivated from the ground and captured the scene as responders attempted emergency lifesaving procedures.
