Over 1,500 Ukrainians are believed to be waiting for asylum right now near the San Ysidro Port of Entry. 21-year-old Aliona Darmorost and her 24-year-old cousin, Bohdana Haikova, left Ukraine last week after a friend in Sacramento offered to host them.
