JUST IN: National Tsunami Warning Center Update As Waves Hit West Coast Following Volcano Eruption
The National Tsunami Warning Center gives an update after tsunami waves have hit the West Coast of North America—from California through British Columbia to Alaska—where a tsunami advisory is still in effect, the National Weather Service said Saturday, resulting from the eruption of an undersea volcano near the Pacific island nation of Tonga, sending 2.7-foot waves crashing ashore.
