Covid Hospitalizations Rise in U.S. West as Omicron Surges

The burden on U.S. health-care facilities is spreading from the Northeast to parts of the West Coast, as well as rural states across the country. The seven-day average of hospital admissions with confirmed Covid-19 is up 76% in Alaska, 59% in Idaho and 53% in Arkansas in the past week, according to Department of Health and Human Services data. Oregon and California round out the worst five states by momentum, with admissions up 52% and 51%, respectively.
