House votes to hold Meadows in criminal contempt of Congress
The House voted to hold former President Donald Trump's chief of staff Mark Meadows in criminal contempt of Congress. The vote passed the House by a 222-208 margin, with only two Republicans voting yes. Meadows defied a subpoena issued by the committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection and filed a lawsuit to invalidate it, citing Trump's claim of executive privilege. But the committee rejected that claim.
