Oct.06 -- Prime Minister Boris Johnson says the U.K. economy is embarking a change of direction "that has been long overdue." He was speaking at the Conservative Party's annual conference in Manchester, Wednesday. "We're not going back to the same old broken model with low wages, low growth, low skills and low productivity," he said, while also citing a policy of controlled immigration which allows "people of talent to come to this country."
