The United Nations stockpile of aid in Afghanistan is "running low" and they have not brought in aid via the Kabul airport since the Taliban took control of the city. "We did have quite a large number of supplies pre=positioned, so, I mean, WHO has been able to continue some distribution. UNICEF feeding centers are working throughout the country, but those supplies are running low. And that's why it is it is critical that we have a functioning airport in Kabul," said Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations. Dujarric said that the U.N. is hoping that an "air bridge" being organized by the World Food Program will help get supplies to needy parts of the country.
