California’s Caldor Fire could reach Lake Tahoe as the blaze burns largely out of control in the mountains near the popular resort area. “It is knocking on the door to the Lake Tahoe basin,” said Thom Porter, director of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or Cal Fire, on Monday. “We have all efforts in place to keep it out of the basin.
