Firefighters worked to contain the Dixie Fire burning in California as the blaze reached over 699,600 acres, officials said on August 19. This footage, posted by Cal Fire’s Lassen-Modoc unit on August 19, shows a firefighting aircraft dropping retardant over the flames near Janesville, California. The wildfire, which has been burning since July 14, was at 35% containment, with all evacuation orders and warnings issued for Lassen County remained in place, according to local news.
