Hundreds of Afghans, including women and children, have crossed over the border into Pakistan border in the past 24 hours, witnesses said Tuesday. At least two people among the Afghans crossing the border into Chaman were inmates who were recently freed from the Pul-e-Charkhi and Bagram jails by the Taliban. It was unclear on what charges the inmates had been held by the Afghan government. Abdul Qadoos, told the Associated Press that he spent six years in the Pul-e-Charkhi jail before the Taliban released him. He shared no further details and did not say whether he went to Afghanistan from Pakistan to support the Taliban. However, his relatives who welcomed him on his arrival at the Chaman border were waving Taliban flags.
