The highly transmissible delta variant is now the dominant coronavirus strain in the U.S., surpassing the alpha variant, according to the CDC. Just over eight in 10 Covid cases in the Midwest region are now due to the variant and it's being driven by a spike in Missouri. CNBC's Bertha Coombs reports.
