May.23 -- Japan’s government is considering whether to extend a state of emergency in Tokyo and other areas until about a month before the capital is due to host the Olympic Games, according to local reports. Meanwhile, Masayoshi Son, the billionaire founder and top executive of SoftBank Group Corp., joined growing criticism of the plan to hold the Olympics as scheduled amid the coronavirus pandemic.
